PAY IT FORWARD

This year's Annual Summit theme is 'Pay It Forward.' At its core, “paying it forward” is a simple yet profound idea. It is about extending kindness and generosity without expecting anything in return. By initiating a chain reaction of goodwill, we can create ripples of positive impact that reach far beyond the initial act.

Growth flourishes in environments where giving is encouraged. By offering our time, talents, experiences, or resources to others, we not only uplift their lives but also enrich our own. The act of giving fosters empathy, strengthens connections, and ignites a sense of purpose within ourselves. Moreover, "paying it forward" is not just about the immediate impact of our actions, but also about fostering a sense of interconnectedness and empathy.

As Summit comes closer, we will celebrate Females in Finance and honor the dedication of our speakers, sponsors, and supporters, let us also reaffirm our commitment to paying it forward. The experiences shared by our speakers will underscore the importance of seeking guidance and utilizing diverse perspectives for collective growth.

Thank you for your unwavering dedication to our mission, and for your commitment to creating a finance industry that celebrates diversity, inclusion, and growth. Together, through our collective efforts to "pay it forward," we can create a legacy of kindness that transcends time and leaves a lasting impact on future generations.

Introducing the Lori Holland Initiative for Women

Lori Holland's unwavering belief in the transformative power of education and her passion for advancing women empowerment in the finance industry have resulted
in numerous admirable achievements throughout her life. Lori graduated from DePaul University in 1984 with a degree in Finance. Lori found great fulfillment in her time at DePaul University, as she was inspired by the proactive and determined nature of the students who took action to make a positive impact on the world. She became a managing director at Neuberger Berman after college. She then continued her dedicated involvement with DePaul University, including her service on the Finance Advisory Board since 2002 and her appointment as Chair of the Board of Trustees in 2020, and has been invaluable in demonstrating collaborative leadership and sound business practices.

To honor Lori’s legacy for years to come, through a bequest from her husband, Bob Holland, the Lori Holland Initiative for Women was established in 2023. This endowed gift allows DePaul University to provide scholarships and programming to support women as they enter the field that has been historically dominated by men. This endowed gift will allow DePaul University to build a program that advances women in the field that has been historically dominated by men.

The Lori Holland Initiative for Women will elevate the status of women in the finance and investment management fields and will provide scholarships, resources, networks, and career opportunities for those who participate.  In Fall 2024, DePaul will also launch the cohort-based, Holland Scholars program that is supported with scholarships and a deep commitment to career success.

We express deep gratitude to Lori for her exceptional leadership in the industry and Bob for his vision to carry on Lori’s legacy by advancing women empowerment in finance for years to come. We are honored to partner with the Lori Holland Initiative for Women, which will provide ongoing support for the annual Summits as we continue to recognize women leaders.

DePaul students don't just talk about changing the world-they take action through community service, social advocacy and creative problem solving. I am proud to support DePaul students." - Lori Holland
